The Hewett Academy is delighted to have received a donation this week from one of its local stores, facilitated by the fantastic Friends of Hewett who had requested sponsorship.

The donation, granted by the Co-op, was delivered this Thursday and they were keen to support the Hewett Academy’s Christmas Hamper event by providing a £200 contribution in store vouchers. Jamie and five other members of the Co-op team will be helping pack the hampers later in the month on the 16th December.

This is the fourth year running that the hampers have been produced, and they will consist of a variety of fruit and Christmas treats and goodies along with a £5 Co-op voucher. They will be gifted to any family in The Hewett community who may need more support in the surroundings area by an incredible team of helpers and volunteers. The school community, friends and families will be packing the Christmas hampers and will have refreshments including Turkey sandwiches and hot drinks provided.

Antony Little, Principal of the Hewett Academy said:

"Hewett Academy is more than a school, we are a proper community that supports one another. Our links with generous local businesses such as Co-op ensure that our students and their families are well supported during tough times.  We are proud to be backing our families like this and it’s one of the reasons that our students feel so supported at Hewett."

We want to thank the Co-op for their kind generosity, which at this difficult time, is appreciated by all more than ever.
