Planners
Schools planners are a vital tool in allowing students to succeed at school. All students will receive a planner which allows them to record their homework, read school policies and use key resources to support their learning.
-
Planners are an essential part of the school equipment and must be brought to school every day. Planners should be sat on student desks in every lesson next to their equipment. Sanctions will be issued if a student does not have their planner.
-
Students should record, clearly and legibly, all homework set in their planner.
-
Parents can use the planner to review their child’s homework. Parents are not expected to sign the planner and are asked to avoid writing notes in the planner. Notes should be written on paper for students to hand in so they can be recorded on file.
-
Form Tutors will check all students’ planners once a week to ensure homework is being effectively and regularly recorded. If the form tutor judges this not to be the case in any student’s planner, they will issue a sanction.
-
Form Tutors will check some students’ planners once a week - changing week-by-week - to ensure planners are free from graffiti, from damage and that all pages remain in the planner. If the form tutor judges this not to be the case in any student’s planner, they will issue a sanction and students will be required to buy a new planner.
-
Planners should be kept neat and tidy. No sheets should fall out, there should be no graffiti and it should not be used for any reason other than school use.
-
If a planner is lost or kept in a state where a form tutor, Assistant Head of Key Stage or member of the Leadership Team believes a new one is needed, that will be at the cost to the family of £3 per planner. This is the cost price and no profit is made from this.
