Students at Hewett Academy received their GCSE results today, marking an important milestone in their educational journey. Staff and families came together in the school’s hall to celebrate the hard work and resilience that underpin every result, recognising the unique stories behind each success.

This year, 63% of students at Hewett Academy achieved a grade 4 or above in English and Maths. The secondary school is incredibly proud of the progress made by students across all ability levels.

Principal, Antony Little said:

“I want to pay a heartfelt tribute to a wonderful Year Group. Their hard work and dedication have paid off, and these results will be their pathways to great things in the future. It's been another fantastic set of results for Hewett Academy, cementing the schools' improvement over the last few years. We are especially pleased to have a record number of grade 9s this year, showing exactly what our students are capable of! Hewett is an incredible place, and the focus on each student that we can provide has really proved crucial.

Year 11 will be missed so much by the staff here - people often describe the school like a family and watching them mature into wonderful young adults has been an absolute pleasure. But we know they'll take a bit of Hewett with them onto their next steps in life.”

Beatrix Ives O Brien, who achieved 8x grade 9s and is going on to study History, Politics, Maths, and Physics said:

“I am still in shock. I was so nervous but now feel immense joy. My grades and this school have given me so many opportunities. I feel optimistic about my future.”

Amaan (Shaik Muhammad Amaan Hussain), who achieved 5x grades 9, has secured their place at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form in September said:

“I am very pleased with all of my results but especially with my STEM outcomes. I worked so hard to ensure that these subjects were successful. I have been very welcomed into the Hewett community and have felt very supported. To achieve 9's in all of the sciences, computer science and maths means that I can continue to study these subjects at Sir Isaac Newton next year.”

Darcy Smith (100% Grades 5-9) said:

“I am so very happy that a part of me wants to cry. I am delighted with my Graphics, English Literature and History grades as I worked hardest in these subjects and my 8's and 9's reflect this effort. The teachers in this school have made a huge difference to my mindset and I have felt very supported and cared for. My grades will support my ambition to be a teacher in the future.”

Sri Krishna (Chilukamarri Sri Krishna), who secured 100% grades 7-9, said:

“I am feeling great. My results are amazing and better than I could have expected. I have made incredible improvements from year 10. I worked so hard in the build-up to my exams and had lots of support from the staff at school. I am going to study Sciences and Maths at sixth form and feel ready for this challenge. The Hewett community, learning environment and staff have all supported me in this success for which I am grateful.”

Madeleine Hayward (100% Grades 6-9) said:

“I am ecstatic! I am overjoyed with my results and feel so grateful to my teachers for their extra time and support. I am proud of myself for the hard work that I have put in. I am excited to start my A-Levels in Photography, Classics and French. I have loved my time and the opportunities that I have been afforded here, especially my role as vice house captain. I am looking forward to my new adventure.”

Eshal, who attained 11x grades 7-9, said:

“I am really happy with so many grade 9's. Achieving these in science ensures that I can continue to study these at Sir Isaac Newton and follow my dream into medicine at Cambridge university.”

The Norwich-based school has had an outstanding year, having been recognised as “highly commended” in the “Award for Making a Difference - Secondary School of the Year” category by the Pearson National Teaching Awards 2025.
